Overview

About the project

The Franklin Street West works, delivered for Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP), formed part of the Metro Tunnel Project. The works supported construction of a new underground station and associated infrastructure, including tunnelling for the new rail lines and upgrades to existing transport facilities.

The Metro Tunnel increases capacity on Melbourne's rail network, eases congestion in the CBD and improves access for passengers. It is a critical part of modernising the city's public transport for a growing population.
