Overview

About the project

In early 2023, our team completed major civil works for the Level Crossing Removal Project at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert, two of Melbourne's most congested crossings.

The project lowered the rail line into a 1.3 km trench and delivered the new Union station, removing both crossings and allowing more frequent services through the corridor. We are proud to have contributed to a safer, more efficient rail network for Melbourne's commuters.

Our works in numbers

210,000+BCM

of material excavated during rail occupation

2+km

of trunk drainage, including 1,800 mm RCP pipes

8+km

of track drainage, railway formation and capping
