Overview

About the project

Suburban Rail Loop East will link Cheltenham to Box Hill through twin 26 km tunnels and six new underground stations, with trains expected to run by 2035. The Burwood Tunnel Access Shaft formed part of the Initial and Early Works (IWEW) package.

Our works began in July 2024 and were completed in April 2026. Our responsibilities included the delivery, design (where applicable), supply, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of the earthworks for the Tunnel Access Shaft (TAS) at Burwood, including all associated temporary works.

On time and within budget

Working closely with the project delivery team, we resolved design and construction challenges through detailed planning and a skilled workforce. The works were delivered on time and within budget, to high safety and quality standards.
